Hot Water
42 inches high by 36 inches on the other two dimensions, Hot Water has a Macassar ebony pot, the figure is one and a half times life size, carved painted wood. The water is patterned after a drawing from 17th century India, The flames are osage orange and the wood is from Buck Beery's woodpile. Hot Water represents the Faustian deal we can find ourselves whenever we compromise from what we know to be right. Also note that the New Yorker used to have anthropologists visiting primitive areas of the world ending up in the dinner pot for the locals. This has fallen out of fashion due to pc issues. This was never my intension, This is about the Faustian Deal. |
