Bronze Leg Sculpture Commission

Final Foam Shot

Here I am almost ready for the clay. I lowered the tendon on the knee and added some on the calf and started adding the clay. The outside of the ankle bone appears to have a hole. I will fill that with clay.

Note on the background:

The body of water is Wappingers Creek below the dam and falls at Wappingers Falls. At this point it is an estuary of the Hudson River which is a mile away. The creek - estuary - river is tidal with an average tide of 41 inches. This past full moon in November of 2006 was particularly close making a much higher tide than normal.

The building in the background is part of the "Bleachery" which has been an industrial area for well over 200 years. There is a growing and thriving creative community here.
